In the centre of a town
stands a small park
silent and serene,
peaceful but lonely
During the day
she has seen small children
tickle her smooth grass
Which now lays bare
She has felt the warmth
That lovely couples created
around her trees
they have gone cold
Her flowers have heard
old men mutter
great wisdom to them
They are dry
The park looks
Unto the town that sleeps
She has earned her peace
But at a cost
stands a small park
silent and serene,
peaceful but lonely
During the day
she has seen small children
tickle her smooth grass
Which now lays bare
She has felt the warmth
That lovely couples created
around her trees
they have gone cold
Her flowers have heard
old men mutter
great wisdom to them
They are dry
The park looks
Unto the town that sleeps
She has earned her peace
But at a cost
